Detox & Rejuvenate Video with Marlene

shutterstock_96829891Improve your health, detox and lose weight by giving your body the correct nutrition. Home Remedies have been in use for centuries and have become the preferred option for many people looking to alleviate health problems naturally.  The most popular detox home remedy I teach my clients is one that is easily made in their own kitchen – Marlene’s Organic Magic Mineral Broth helps discharge excess and is super to use particularly at this time of year as most folks embark on a detox and weight loss programme after over indulging during the holidays.

As you are aware most weight loss and detox programmes contain additives, preservatives, chemicals and are not sustainable. These programmes are expensive in comparison to purchasing the ingredients needed to make this amazing broth.   This broth uses only organic natural ingredients, it is loaded with nutrients and the three ‘key ’foods’ listed below, (seaweed, shitake mushrooms and daikon) make this an absolute winner to adopt into your diet at any time of the year.

In Macrobiotics we use these three incredible ingredients and a host of other plant based foods for their healing and medicinal properties.  By adding these specific ingredients to our locally grown organic vegetables creates a powerful blood strengthener  and a detox broth that is very potent. Alongside a wholefoods Plant Based Diet this broth offers the body the nutrients it needs to be healthy in every day life and helps to create a healthy equilibrium.  Make some with me now;

RECIPE

A vegetable broth made from organically grown vegetables can be an excellent source of essential electrolytes. Ionic minerals are the key to maintaining good health. The broth is a wonderful, filling snack that will also provide you with many healing nutrients and alkalinize your system, making it easier to detoxify, lose weight, and feel great. The recipe can be varied according to taste.

2 x 5 inch strips of Kombu Seaweed

6 dried Shiitake mushrooms

1 x 40g pack dried Daikon

6 carrots cut into chunks

2 medium onions cut into chunks

1 leek, both white and green parts, cut into chunks

1 small bunch of celery including the heart, cut into chunks

5 unpeeled cloves garlic, halved

1 small pumpkin or squash with skin on, quartered

5 inch piece of fresh ginger, sliced

4 cups chopped greens such as kale, chard,

½ bunch fresh flat-leaf parsley

In a large stock or soup pot, combine all the ingredients.   Fill the pot to 2 inches below the rim with water, cover, and bring to a boil.  Remove the lid, decrease the heat to low, and simmer for a minimum of 2 hours.  As the stock simmers, some of the water will evaporate; add more if the vegetables are exposed.  Simmer until the full richness of the vegetables can be tasted. Strain the stock and pour into glass storage jars.  Refrigerating works well with any broth.

The ingredients above serve a family for days but you require rather a large stock/soup pot so adjust the ingredients accordingly for your own needs. Drink 2 to 3 cups daily.

 

Dried seaweed 

Research shows that seaweed is not only healthy, but speeds up weight loss by blocking fat intake and promotes fat burning.  Scientists have discovered a substance that reduces fat uptake in the body by more than 75 per cent. This obesity fighter is not a drug but a natural substance found in seaweed.  Alginate the natural fibre found in sea kelp blocks the body from absorbing fat far more effectively than anti-weight treatments currently sold over the counter.

Shitake Mushrooms

Dried Shitake mushrooms aid the liver in metabolizing your macronutrients which lessens the need for insulin production.  I use these ‘magic’ recipes for fast acting weight loss recipes with all my clients who embark on my Weight Loss Nature’s Way Programme.

They are also powerful immune boosters, rich in antioxidants and lower cholesterol levels.  They are low in calories, low in fat, high in fibre, rich in protein, and also act as a blood cleanser.  Truly Magical!

Daikon Radish

To say that daikon hosts all the best vitamins and minerals to stimulate weight loss is an understatement.  This magical vegetable is superior to anything I have used for years with clients to achieve amazing results.  It is a fantastic natural diuretic and rids the body of fluid retention.  The more fat cells we have, the more fluid we store.

  1. Is it worth me doing a detox? I am disabled with multiple medications for multiple ailments, so have to fill my body with drugs every day!

    • Absolutely Jill, try to change your diet to a more wholefoods plant based one, there are lots of recipes on my website and you tube channel. Miso Soup, lots of vegetables, wholegrain etc., and nutrient rich foods free from chemicals and preservatives. Cut back or remove meat dairy and sugar for the month of January. It will all help. Buy organic where possible
